Everyone wants that opportunity to bag a big time white tail deer, and when you understand how to hunt the rut, you will become much more effective. 2. Using scent during the rut – Much like calling deer, there are some scents that you should not use during phases of the rut. The scents are more likely to drive bucks away from a location and not into the area you are wanting.

o Caution using scents – During certain times of the rut, there are scents that would normally attract deer that will actually drive them away. Calling Whitetail Deer

Whitetail deer aren’t that articulate, yet they are very curious animals. They make about three general sounds. Most their sounds are variations of grunts, snorts and bleats.
