My sincere condolances of the passing of your father. Your action in helping him to achieve this speaks volumns re: love and respect.
And by the way, it was truely a great shot.

many states have feed the hungry programs where hunters can donate their bagged deer to local food pantries.
as for black bear, i would probably never eat the meat. alot of the time its infested with parasites and or tapeworms. even if you want to eat it i believe you have to freeze it for a full 6 months to kill everything. not even cooking it thoroughly will do the job. the same applies for wild bore as well i believe

Totally agreed. I do see hunting in some ways as a sport, but I or a family member or friend always eat what I kill. I don’t hunt animals I wouldn’t eat.

I would agree. I cooked my bear in a crock pot all day and if I didn’t know it was bear I would have thought it was a beef pot roast. Bear meat is healthy and very tasty.

damn that was a quick, clean painless shot the bear was dead before it hit the ground, as far as I can tell the bullet entered in the bears neck severing the spinal chord and traveling the length of it’s body before lodging somplace doing massive damage

i am sorry for your loss

well since we are gods critters.. and we need food to live…i think we are respecting the natural order of things as long as we dont waist the meat that the lord has soo graciously provided
February 20th, 2010 at 12:47 pm
you have to eat it or give it to somebody that would…i hate trophy hunters….dont go hunting if ure just going to waist the meat

For me, it almosts tastes quite similar to beef. Its not bad or different at all.
February 20th, 2010 at 1:46 pm
eat it
February 20th, 2010 at 2:20 pm
some people eat it……to me it would be like eating someones dog. but i geuss some people liek it.
February 20th, 2010 at 2:22 pm
And how is this respecting god’s critters?
February 20th, 2010 at 2:57 pm
What do you do with a bear other then mounting it or making it into a rug?

The hunter in this clip is my Father he passed away this past June (Just a little over a year after this hunt). His dream was to kill a nice black Bear. I am blessed to have been able to help him achieve it. He taught me so much about hunting and respect for God’s critters. God Bless and Happy Huntin!
